Signed as a session leader for Prestige Records at 20, he's been a giant innovator in jazz, fusion, and pop for over four decades. In the late '70s, brain surgery left Martino with no memory of the guitar at all. He taught himself to play again using his own records as a guide. Within a few years he'd passed himself up and was forging ahead into uncharted ground, a real hero. Now he's designed a truly heroic axe with Gibson's Custom Shop. The gorgeous figured maple carved top, bound turtle pickguard, full body and neck binding, unmarked ebony fretboard (the fret markers are on the side), and gold hardware and knobs give it unmatched visual appeal.
